Our FAQ page provides answers to questions frequently asked about our company and the trimming services that we provide.

 

Cleanup and removal of debris is included with every job, so there will be no waste or cedar clippings left behind at your property.  The cedar clippings are then recycled by our friends at Cedar Leaf Canada, who use them to extract cedar oil, which has a variety of household uses.

Is cleanup included in your quote?


This is the most common question we get, especially for hedges that have become overgrown. A cedar hedge has an outer shell of greenery & foliage, while the inner core of the hedge consists of branches only. We cannot trim a hedge back beyond its outer layer of greenery. This would expose the inner branches, and the layer of greenery will not regenerate. Our hedge experts will need to see your hedge in person to determine how much can be safely removed, without causing permanent damage to the hedge. Refer to our Hedge Care Tips for more information.

How far back can I trim my cedar hedge?


Your hedge can be trimmed at any time in the spring, summer or fall. As long as temperatures are no longer dipping below freezing, it is safe to trim your hedge without harming its growing cycle.  The most important thing to keep in mind for a full, vibrant hedge is to have it trimmed yearly, and at the same time each season.  This will ensure that it maintains its shape and size, and that it fills out with plenty of leafy green growth.

When is the best time to trim my hedge?


As a general rule, we cannot perform ladder work in the rain, for safety reasons.  If rain is called for on the day the work has been scheduled, we will contact you with a proposed rain date. If it turns out that the weather is clear enough to work, we will complete the job as originally scheduled.  If not, we will reschedule the work for the proposed rain date.

How do you accept payment?

We accept payment via cash, cheque, or e-transfer. 

You will receive your invoice via e-mail once the job has been completed.  If you are planning to have a cheque ready on the date of service, let us know, and we can send you the invoice total in advance.


Yes. We have commercial general liability insurance, to ensure our mutual protection.  We also have WSIB coverage for all of our employees.  Proof of insurance is available upon request, and please don't hesitate to contact us if you have questions regarding the details of our coverage.
